Danny Rose Riles A Good Few Fans With His Latest Incendiary Interview

By The Boy -

Danny Rose has opened his heart to the press again, and as per his previous foray into back page exclusives, the repercussions will continue to play out, until he’s no longer at the club.

Rose is now 29 and clearly senses that there are limited options ahead of him, certainly as far as the Premier League is concerned.

Rose’s first big media splash came via an interview with The Sun back in 2017. Danny felt ‘under-valued and misunderstood’.

Interestingly, it was in that exclusive that England regular first announced that he only had one big contract in him.

Now, Rose has laid out his position in the most blunt terms.

Sky Sports

Generally speaking, fan reaction has not been kind. This sort of outburst is not one routinely experiences at top flight clubs.

What Rose has said about his situation simply adds more weight to the imponderable “…what is wrong at Tottenham?” question.

These fan responses are representative of the discord that surrounds Spurs right now.

Well if that has any truth, it doesnt say much for the welfare given to him by the club, maybe it explains his behaviour with the media .

I think it’s his mental health issues that have turned clubs off of him.

He has told the truth. He is played because he is the best left back we have. Amongst the other senior players who are not happy, danny can be trusted he puts his heart and soul into playing.. Shooting the messenger for being honest is PC gone mad

I’m all for doing your best for your family , poor Danny believed all that hype that was said about him in the media, when he had that one decent spell in 10 years, and in his head he expected the best teams around Europe to be queuing up for his signature. Didnt happen though did it, unless you count Watford and Everton maybe, says it all for me.

I don’t remember anything coming out of his mouth for his first 10 odd years here while stacking up his England caps at all levels when duds like stambuli chiriches and alike came in on more money than him. He’s earned the right to run his mouth off and rinse us. Do what’s best for you and your people Danny son.

It’s the inevitable conclusion to when a football club is eaten away by parasites. That’s what’s going on.
Vicenza know.

He’ll be benched imminently once Sessegnon gets adjusted. Another one that we have failed to move on despite having got a replacement and also having Davies recently sign a new contract.

Very poor management all round IMHO.

What an embarrassing situation for Levy, he could of got rid of Danny boy three seasons ago, and ever since the lad has stirred his negative bile and fed the eager media with it. How can you play him with an attitude like he has, there are a number of other players not entirely happy , but he is the only one who spouts such drivel, if your not happy go Danny, simple.

Seriously, what the heck is going on at the club?

We have at least four first teamers looking to leave once their contracts are up and at least two others (Aurier/Wanyama) who looked to be out of the picture a few months ago, but need to play due to lack of incoming transfers.

On that note: why on earth did we sell Trippier without a replacement? Aurier doesn’t appear to be Poch’s flavour of the month, so why didn’t we get a class replacement before selling?

For a club that was on the cusp of something special, it has all come crashing down spectacularly quickly.

To add to this we’ve had Poch initmating that had he won the CL he might have left! What sort of message does that send. He has credit in the bank following the sterling work he has put in over the last few seasons, but his tactics, starting line-ups, etc seem to have nose-dived.

Without knowing exactly whats occuring behind the scenes (can Amazon shed some light?) I’d do the following:

Jettison Eriksen and Rose completely.
Utilise Sessegnon, Lo Celso and NDombele as much as possible.
Get Lamela fit and playing
Integrate Moura rather than seemingly ostracise a player that seems to play better the more loved he feels.
Integrate Sanchez, Foyth, Tangaga, Skipp, KWP and Parrott as much as possible to see if they can step up regularly/be part of the squad moving forward.
If Verts and Toby are fit and want to play for the badge at least play one of them alongside Sanchez/Foyth for experience.

Target a RB, CB, CM AM and CF asap and try at least to bring in a couple of fresh faces in January (and several; more in the summer). If the net spend is £50M+ advise Levy not to fret as we have at least one asset that we could sell for upwards of £150M alone.

Advise Levy that the best way to raise the club profile and get a stadium sponsor; and to attract top talent and retain top talent is to fu**ing win something.

Team for West Spam:

Gazzaniga
Foyth Toby Sanchez Davies
Sissoko NDombele
Moura Lo Celso Son
Kane

Subs: Whiteman, Tanganga, Dier, Sessegnon, Winks, Alli, Parrott

Good on him it’s a breath of fresh air hearing a bit of Truth come out of the club for once.

Is it a great situation obviously not but if you were employed and told u weren’t wanted at end of contract you’d also lose the effort and same work ethic anyone saying they wouldn’t is a Liar.
It’s different if a player has proper love or legence for the club they play but Danny Rose and many others aren’t that sentimental its a job to them like any other job.

And although it’s a pain seeing the team we support in this mess it’s also a blessing because it exposes what an absolute circus it is at the top fingers crossed fans stop arguing and start giving the board what for

If other welders are getting £300 a day and I’m only getting £100 I’d be vex. Especially coz I’m very very very good (been doing it long enough) under paid is not good

I personally would have him training with the kids, and only when he really really begs to play would I put him on the bench. If he makes the pithc and shows anything but 100% his career would be over.
I would make him beg to leave in January.

Yes, it would be hard to argue, based on performance, that Christian hasn’t mentally ‘downed tools’ at this point and I certainly would not have him starting right now.

I would agree with all above apart from Christian, he has “downed tools” Poch just hasn’t realised yet. I agree with Tappa below, bench the ones clearly not trying, cut off their bonuses etc… will cost them a hell of a lot of money.

I am not sure why he needed to say this, he is doing his career no favours. No-one wanted him before, even fewer will touch him at 31 with this attitude of the world owing him something.

The bottom line is this. Daniel Levy refused to offer several of our top players, Toby, Christian and Danny Rose also, fair market rates for their services, when it came time for contract renewal/contract renegotiation. Bearing in mind he (Levy) hardly stints on his own remuneration (he is the highest paid chairman in the EPL) and Poch himself, is at least the fourth highest paid manager, understandably the aforementioned players, who had given their all for the club, felt under-valued and under-appreciated and declined to sign their ‘cut rate’ new contract offers, but rather let their existing deals run down.

This is a classic example of Levy’s ‘penny wise, pound foolish’ attitude, which In my opinion has caused a silent mutiny among certain senior pros at Spurs. None of them are so unprofessional as to publicly ‘down tools’, nevertheless the decline in motivation and morale is manifest and the malaise has affected the whole squad. This has been exacerbated by Poch’s own antics, his evident dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in the regeneration of the team and his apparent doubts about his own future.

None of this is pleasurable to witness, but I personally don’t blame Danny Rose. He was our best player in Madrid, for what it’s worth and has always given 100% for the club. He is underpaid by the standards of his peers. So are Toby and Christian. Jan has been a loyal servant and played at a high standard, he shouldn’t have to scrabble around begging for a one year deal, he should have been offered a minimum two year deal at a fair rate. The club and in particular Levy have entirely brought this upon themselves and the inescapable conclusion is that it was wholly avoidable.

Just pay Danny the year he is owed at the end of the season and let him leave gracefully I say. After 12 years on relatively rubbish money he deserves it

It’s so hard for me to be vex with the rebels as I’d probably do the same if I was working for a multimillion pound company and thought they were taking advantage of me. But it’s more than that though coz they’re making the fans suffer too and we ain’t done anything wrong. Just want them to go so we can move on.
