Daniel Levy keen on 38-year-old manager who is close with Pedro Porro

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are still looking for a quality long-term replacement for manager Antonio Conte who was sacked recently.

The 53-year-old Italian manager is yet to be replaced and Cristian Stellini has been put in charge of the first team on an interim basis.

Tottenham have been linked with a number of managers recently, including the Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim.

The 38-year-old has done an impressive job at the Portuguese club and his side managed to outperform the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham in Europe this season.

Amorim’s style of football has also attracted a lot of praise, and it remains to be seen whether he is ready to take over at the north London club in the summer.

Football London journalist Alasdair Gold has revealed during a Q and A session that Tottenham are keeping tabs on the 38-year-old manager along with a few others.

“Amorim is definitely a younger manager who has been considered,” he wrote (h/t HITC).

The opportunity to manage a big Premier League club could be an exciting option for Amorim and it would be the ideal next step in his career.

Furthermore, joining Tottenham would allow him to reunite with Pedro Porro at the London club. The Spaniard was a key player for Amorim during his time at Sporting CP and the manager has publicly admitted that he had a close relationship with the defender.

Porro is still getting to grips with English football, and playing under Amorim at Tottenham could bring out the best in him.
