“Could be back sooner” – Boost for Spurs as injury expert shares the latest on key Tottenham star

By Mehdi Gokal -

Injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar has given the latest update on Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven.

Micky van de Ven is out with a hamstring injury which he picked up against Chelsea during their 4-1 defeat.

The injury was deemed serious and initial scans suggested he would be out until February.

But recent reports have claimed that he might be ahead of time in his recovery and could return by January.

And now Dr Rajpal has given update on the 22-year-old.

As per him, the defender ‘may be closing in’ on a return from injury.

He told Tottenham News:

“His routine will be methodically progressing his strength and mobility while getting back to more sport-specific actions.”

“In terms of timeline, don’t believe Tottenham gave anything specific originally but there were reports of late January or early February so his return so quickly is likely a positive sign and he could be back sooner.”

“His setback is sounding more like a moderate grade injury rather than a complete rupture which would be over three months out.”

His return will come as a huge boost for Ange who has a big defense problem.

The only centre-back available to him is Cristian Romero. Eric Dier who is expected to leave in January is also out injured.

Ben Davies has been playing as a makeshift centre-back since the Dutch defender’s injury and has been exceptional.

But once van de Ven is back, he will be coming straight into the starting XI.
