“clubs are looking at him” – Pundit claims key Tottenham man is attracting interest from clubs across Europe

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham’s assistant manager, Cristian Stellini, has been garnering attention from other clubs after his impressive job standing in for Antonio Conte. His recent record has made him an attractive prospect for other teams in the English league and Europe.

Stellini stepped up to take the reins at Tottenham Hotspur when Antonio Conte had to undergo emergency surgery, and he has not disappointed.

In his absence, Stellini has maintained a 100% record, winning all four games, including notable victories over Chelsea, Marseille, and Manchester City.

This impressive performance has caught the attention of Stan Collymore, who believes that Stellini’s success could lead to interest from other clubs. In an exclusive interview with Caughtoffside, Collymore suggested that Stellini could be an attractive prospect for teams in the Championship or equivalent leagues throughout Europe.

He further stated that assistant managers often have their heads turned when they get a taste of the outright manager’s job, and this could be the case for Stellini. As a result, it would not be surprising if other teams are looking at him and wondering if he is worth taking a gamble on.

However, Collymore also acknowledges that Premier League teams, particularly top-half sides, may not be willing to take a chance on Stellini. But, for teams in the Championship or equivalent leagues throughout Europe, Stellini’s success at Tottenham makes him a no-brainer.

He said:

“Cristian Stellini is doing a great job in Antonio Conte’s absence.”

“The problem for Spurs is, when the manager’s number two gets a taste for the outright manager’s job, they often have their head turned. Of course, they’re going to want to experience it more because they’ve had a sample of what it feels like to be the top man – the one in charge – the man who is listened to.

“I certainly wouldn’t be surprised if clubs are looking at him and wondering if he’s worth taking a gamble on. I don’t think any clubs in the Premier League, certainly not top-half sides anyway, will be willing to take a chance on him. Still, as for Championship teams, or the equivalent throughout Europe, in my view, it’s a no-brainer for them to be looking at Stellini.”

Stellini’s record in charge of Tottenham has been impressive, and his ability to maintain a winning record in Antonio Conte’s absence is a testament to his managerial potential. It remains to be seen if other teams will take a chance on him, but if his success at Tottenham is anything to go by, he could be a shrewd appointment for any team looking for a new manager.
