Tottenham Hotspur midfielders Giovani Lo Celso and Tanguy Ndombele have been linked with moves away from the club this summer.
Lo Celso was on loan at Villarreal during the second half of last season and the Argentine international managed to impress manager Unai Emery with his performances. He helped the Spanish club finish in the top four and reach the semifinals of the Champions League.
It is no surprise that Villarreal are keen on signing the midfielder permanently this summer.
Meanwhile, Ndombele was on loan at Lyon and the French side have turned down the option to sign him permanently this summer.
According to journalist Xavi Marquez, Villarreal have held talks with Tottenham regarding a move for both midfielders.
Marquez has revealed that the Spanish club left the meeting with Tottenham ‘very happy’. Furthermore, the two clubs have spoken about a potential swap deal involving Ndombele and Pervis Estupinan and ‘a possible exchange has been considered’.
With Sergio Reguilon being linked with a move away from Spurs this summer, the Londoners could definitely use more depth in that position and 24-year-old Estupinan could prove to be a quality acquisition for them.
It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can finalise the moves in the coming weeks now.
