Tottenham Hotspur striker Troy Parrott was on loan at Dutch outfit Excelsior last season.
The 22-year-old impressed with regular football at the Eredivisie outfit and he managed to score 17 goals in all competitions. The talented younger doctor picked up five assists along the way as well.
According to a report from Football London, Excelsior are now showing interest in signing the player permanently this summer and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham can secure an agreement with them.
The 22-year-old striker needs to play regularly at this stage of his career and Tottenham will not be able to provide him with that opportunity. A move away from the North London club permanently would be ideal for all parties.
Although Spurs need to bring in attacking reinforcements this summer, Parrott might not be ready to start for them. They will need to bring in someone with more quality and higher calibre.
The North London club will be hoping to compete for trophies next season and signing a top class finisher should be one of their priorities.
Meanwhile, Parrott is clearly enjoying his football in the Dutch league and a permanent move to Excelsior will allow him to continue his development with regular football. He will hope to fulfil his potential with ample game time in the coming seasons. It remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a reasonable fee.
Tottenham have been linked with a number of strikers in recent weeks and it will be interesting to see if they can fill the void left by Harry Kane this summer.
