Club set to intensify contract talks with manager amid interest from Tottenham

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with several managers following the sacking of Antonio Conte, and one of the names on their list was Marco Silva of Fulham.

The Portuguese has been doing an excellent job at Craven Cottage, winning the Championship with the club last season and securing their promotion to the Premier League.

Reports from 90min last month claimed that Tottenham were increasingly interested in Silva, and his talks with Fulham over a new contract had stalled.

However, the latest report by Football Insider suggests that Fulham are now set to ‘intensify contract talks’ with Silva, hoping to tie him to a new long-term deal.

Silva’s current contract with the Cottagers ends in June 2024, and the club are keen to keep him as their manager.

The report also suggests that despite links with Tottenham, there is no concrete interest from the North London club in the 45-year-old.

The reports linking Silva with Spurs have cooled down, and Julian Nagelsmann has emerged as one of the favourites for the job.

Nagelsmann is a highly rated manager who has previously impressed at RB Leipzig. He earned himself a move to Bayern Munich where he had a brilliant first season. However this season despite only losing 3 games all season, he was sacked by the German club.
