Club now regret allowing £40m player to join Tottenham Hotspur

By Mehdi Gokal -

Real Madrid made a rare mistake of passing on the opportunity to sign a talented player and they are now regretting it.

As per the report from Bernabeu Digital, the club is extremely regretful of their decision to not sign Tottenham fullback Pedro Porro.

The report explains that Los Blancos were keen on signing Porro from Sporting before his move to Spurs and that they could have secured him for just €40m at one point.

Madrid’s board decided to keep stick with Dani Carvajal and Lucas Vazquez instead, which allowed Spurs to swoop for Porro.

The report adds that the Spaniard is now one of the best right-backs in the world and interest from Madrid is now in the past.

He attracted some criticism in the beginning of his Tottenham career following a January move for £40m last January, but has very quietly gone onto prove his doubters wrong.

In particular under Ange, he has produced consistently solid performances and has become an important part of the Australian’s side.
