Tottenham are focused on strengthening their midfield ahead of the upcoming transfer window, with several key targets in sight.
According to club insider Paul O’Keefe on the Last Word on Spurs podcast, Spurs have identified Atalanta’s Ederson and Everton’s Amadou Onana as top priorities.
Ederson, a Brazilian midfielder who has been linked with Spurs since January, remains a target.
Despite Atalanta’s initial reluctance to let him leave mid-season, there are now signs they might be open to his departure this summer.
Ederson has been a key figure in Atalanta’s line-up, making 36 appearances in Serie A last season and contributing six goals and an assist.
Similarly, Onana, who joined Everton in August 2022 for €35 million, has also drawn Tottenham’s interest.
The Belgian midfielder was recently selected for Belgium’s 26-man squad for the ongoing UEFA Euro 2024 and started in their opening group game. His strong performances have highlighted his value, making him a potential addition to bolster Spurs’ midfield.
Both Ederson and Onana offer a mix of defensive solidity and attacking prowess, qualities that could significantly improve midfield options at Ange Postecoglou’s disposal.
O’Keefe said (1:00:05):
“Yeah he’s [Ederson] on their list of potentials with the other guy [Amadou Onana] at Everton, so yeah and I like him I’ve had a look at him I’d take him over Gallagher all day long.”
