Ange Postecoglou joked about missing out on a big signing on deadline day.
Tottenham were one of the most active Premier League clubs this window with the club moving out 8 of their fringe players.
They also signed Timo Werner on a loan deal from RB Leipzig and Radu Dragusin on a permanent deal from Genoa.
And yesterday, despite Ange stating previously that they are done with signings, they made a last minute move to hijack the transfer of Lucas Bergvall from under Barcelona’s noses.
The player ended up choosing Tottenham over Barcelona in the dying moments of the window.
But speaking at his pre-match press conference, ahead of his side’s trip to Everton on Saturday, Postecoglou jokingly admitted that there was one signing that Spurs missed out on who ended up signing for elsewhere.
And just when the reporters thought they had a big behind the scenes scoop to report on, Ange revealed he’s talking about Lewis Hamilton who joined Ferrari yesterday.
He said: ‘The only disappointing one for us was that I felt there was a good opportunity for us, but the club didn’t feel it was right and he ended up going elsewhere.
‘He went to Ferrari instead… I got you all going there didn’t I? I felt you needed something after a bit of a flat day yesterday’.
