Chelsea looking to hijack Tottenham move for Serie A striker

Chelsea is looking to beat Spurs to the signing of Arkadiusz Milik as the Blues look for a new striker of their own.

Milik has emerged as a target for Spurs in recent months as the Lilywhites look to get a top striker in as a backup to Harry Kane.

Kane has been Tottenham’s most reliable out and out striker for the past five seasons and they have had to use players who play in other positions as emergency forwards when he has been unavailable.

His long-term injury this year has seen Spurs struggle to keep up with the race for the top four and Jose Mourinho wants to avoid that next season.

He has identified a number of players to help reduce their reliance on Kane for goals and Milik features highly on that list.

The Pole has just a year left on his Napoli deal when this season ends and it remains unclear if he would continue with the Italians or seek a new challenge but Spurs are confident that they can land him if they make a move for him.

However, the latest report from TuttoNapoli claims that they now face serious competition from Chelsea and that the Blues have already made contact over a move for the player.
