Bryan King doesn’t think Tottenham will have any interest in selling Guglielmo Vicario amid interest from Inter Milan.
The Italian goalkeeper has recently been linked with a move to Inter Milan who are said to be keen on signing him and are ready to offer £25m for his services.
The former Tottenham scout is not surprised by Inter’s alleged interest in Vicario and believes there will be interest from elsewhere from him too, including the Premier League. However, Tottenham will not be looking to sell him right now.
King told Tottenham News:
“Tottenham definitely won’t be thinking about selling Vicario.”
“Especially not after watching Fraser Forster’s performance against Coventry City. Vicario has done well since he joined the club, and looking around, there isn’t exactly an abundance of top goalkeepers.”
“In addition, Inter Milan already have a half-decent goalkeeper themselves. However, there will be interest in Vicario, be it from Italy or the Premier League.”
Vicario, who joined Spurs from Empoli in the summer, quickly established himself as one of the team’s standout performers, delivering remarkable saves and earning high praise in his debut season.
Despite some recent struggles with set pieces, a weakness that opposition teams have increasingly targeted, Vicario remains their undisputed No. 1 goalkeeper.
And with his current contract not expiring until 2028, there are slim chances that Spurs will allow him to leave or offer him a new contract anytime soon.
