Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son has been linked with a potential move away from the club in the summer transfer window, with Saudi Pro League giants Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal reportedly preparing a lucrative bid for the South Korean star.
Reports suggest that the mega-rich Saudi sides are ready to table a substantial €50m (£41.7m) offer to tempt Son away from North London. Spurs, however, are expected to demand a higher fee, with former club scout Bryan King indicating that a bid in the region of £50 million could persuade the club to part ways with their long-serving attacker.
Son’s contract was initially set to expire at the end of the current season, but Tottenham activated an option to extend his deal by another year, ensuring his stay at the club until the summer of 2026. This move secures his short-term future while also allowing Spurs to cash in on him in the summer.
Bryan King: Son would be interested in move to Saudi Pro League
Former Spurs scout Bryan King has weighed in on the situation, indicating that Son may be tempted by a lucrative offer from Saudi clubs.
King believes that, at this stage in his career, Son could seriously consider such a move, as it may be his final opportunity for a major transfer.
Speaking to Tottenham News, King stated:
“I believe at this stage in his career, Son could accept that deal.
“He is going to become incredibly rich if he does accept a move to Saudi Arabia. In addition, from Spurs’ point of view, Son will only have a year left on his contract, and I think the club could put that £40m to good use.
“This move will interest Son and his representatives because he’s at an age now where he isn’t going to be making too many more big moves. This might be the final big move for Son, and £40m is the sort of figure that would certainly cause a bit of interest.”

Since joining the club in 2015, Son has gone on to become one the club’s all-time greats. He has delivered countless iconic performances, including winning the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2021–22 season and becoming Tottenham’s all-time leader in assists in the competition.
Under Ange Postecoglou, Son has remained a key figure in the team’s attacking setup, and despite Spurs’ struggles this campaign, he has registered 10 goals and 8 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions this season.
However, there has been a noticeable decline in his overall performances, leading to speculation about his long-term future at the club.
With Saudi clubs prepared to make a significant bid, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will cash in on their captain or if Son will remain at the club for another season.
