Worrying prediction made about Spurs’ clash vs Bournemouth with Ange already under pressure

Chris Sutton has made his prediction for Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League clash with Bournemouth.

Spurs travel to the south coast desperate to restore some consistency, with the memorable 4-0 win over Manchester City their only victory in five across all competitions. Last time out, they were lucky to get a 1-1 draw at home to Fulham.

Ange Postecoglou’s men haven’t won back-to-back Premier League games since September and now sit seventh in the table, three points adrift of the top four.

Spurs’ unpredictability has been a source of huge frustration for supporters, who have watched their side look like an elite force one week only to put in a hapless performance the next. As such, they are applying major pressure on Postecoglou to turn things around.

Thursday’s trip will not be easy.

Bournemouth come into the match fresh from a 4-2 win away at Wolves at the weekend while at home, they’ve only lost twice and have already beaten the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium.

What’s more, Spurs are in the bottom half when it comes to away form, with only seven of their 20 points coming on the road, winning two out of six.

It will likely come as little surprise, then, that Sutton is struggling to see a victory on Thursday for Spurs, who will have to settle for another draw.

“Good luck to anyone trying to predict this one. The only thing I am sure about is that there will be a lot of goals,” Sutton wrote in his BBC Sport predictions column, going for a 2-2 scoreline.

“Wolves went toe to toe with Bournemouth on Saturday and the Cherries created chance after chance.

“Tottenham will go toe to toe with the Cherries too, and there are going to be a lot of opportunities at both ends.

“I don’t want to go for another draw this week, and I think Bournemouth are more likely to edge it… but rather than trying to pick a winner, I am going to say they will share the points.”
