Ange Postecoglou has confirmed thst Tottenham star Pape Matar Sarr will not be back for the game against West Ham.
Pape Matar Sarr is having a break through season at the club under the new manager having move above the pecking order and establish himself as a first-team starter alongside Yves Bissouma.
He has started 12 games in the league, scoring one goal and assisting 2.
But the talented midfielder came back from the international break with an issue which has seen him miss the last two games.
And he is not going to be back in time for the game against West Ham either as confirmed by the manager himself.
The good news is that he is back in training and could return for the game against Newcastle on Sunday.
He said (via Football London):
“From the guys out, Pape is back training. Probably tomorrow will be a bit too soon for him but Sunday I’m pretty sure he’ll be available.”
Tottenham played out a thrilling 3-3 draw against Manchester City on the weekend.
They now play West Ham on Thursday before hosting Newcastle, their top 4 rival.
Romero’s return from suspension will come as a big boost for Ange. The centre-back picked up a red against Chelsea which saw him miss the last three games.
He is expected to partner Ben Davies with Emerson Royal set to be benched.
It is important for Spurs to win the next two games to get back to winning ways.
