Tottenham defender Ben Davies has picked his dream six-a-side team including past and present teammates.
The Welsh international defender was asked to choose six players from his past and present Tottenham teammates on the Gabs and Jules show. The experienced defender unsurprisingly chose Hugo Lloris in goal.
The French international goalkeeper was a key player for Spurs during his time at the club and he was an exceptional servant for them. In defence, Davies went for the former Tottenham defender Jan Vertonghen. The Belgian was not just an exceptional defender, his distribution skills and leadership qualities were invaluable additions to the Tottenham dressing room during his time at the club.
In the midfield, Davies picked Christian Eriksen for his technical ability, agility, flair, vision and passing.
The Welshman chose an attacking unit of Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Gareth Bale. Kane is undoubtedly one of the best strikers in Premier League history and he is a legend at Tottenham. Meanwhile, the South Korean international has been phenomenal since moving to Tottenham from the Bundesliga as well. As far as Gareth Bale is concerned, he has proven himself in the Premier League and in the Spanish League. He has won multiple trophies throughout his career and he has produced on the biggest of stages for his teams.
Mousa Dembele deserved a place in the team
While there is no doubt that it is an exceptional team chosen by Davies, the omission of Mousa Dembele is certainly surprising given his skill set, which could have been very useful in a six-a-side game.
The Belgian had exceptional agility, flair and ball control. He could have added new dimension to the Tottenham midfield in a six-a-side game. He was a fan favourite during his time at Tottenham and he was undoubtedly one of the best central midfielders in the league at the time.
