Worrying news for Tottenham as Barcelona are showing eagerness towards one of their star players.
The Spanish giants have set their sights on Pape Matar Sarr. According to Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, they have dispatched a scout to Ivory Coast to monitor players displaying promising performances in the Africa Cup of Nations. Among them is the young Senegalese international, who is having a terrific season.
He has been a regular part of Ange Postecoglou’s side this season, featuring in 18 matches and starting 16. The young player has contributed two goals and provided two assists in the Premier League season.
His stellar performances have seen him surpass players like Oliver Skipp and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, securing a spot alongside Yves Bissouma.
Sarr has been rewarded for his performances with a new long-term contract which he signed just before leaving for the AFCON.
It is extremely unlikely that Tottenham will let Pape Matar Sarr leave, even if they receive an offer from Barcelona.
He has become a key part of Ange’s side and the Australian will not be keen on selling him.
