Arne Slot tipped to sign 22-yr-old ‘similar to Phil Foden’ as his first signing at Spurs

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Feyenoord manager Arne Slot this summer.

The 44-year-old has helped the Dutch club win the league title this year and Tottenham are hoping to bring him in as the next permanent manager.

Dutch football expert Marcel Van der Kraan has now revealed that the 44-year-old manager could look to sign the Feyenoord midfielder Orkun Kokcu during the summer transfer window if he joins the North London club.

“I think he [Slot] will bring in one player in particular and that is the captain Orkun Kokcu, a Turkish international, and only 22 years of age,” he told talkSPORT Drive.

“A youth product, let’s say similar to Phil Foden at Manchester City, a player who everybody is very keen on, only his position is a bit different. He is a midfielder, a playmaker, and he has been the driving force in the team over the last two years.

“If I was a top-six Premier League club, I would be going for Kokcu, definitely. If Spurs get him, it will definitely be worth watching him and see him grow, he can get better. He understands the way this manager wants to play, what he is all about. Very high pressing and attack-minded.”

Kokcu has been a key player for Feyenoord and the 22-year-old has 12 goals and five assists across all competitions.

The Turkish midfielder is also the captain of the side and it would hardly be a surprise if Slot tried to sign Kokcu. He has been a key player for Slot so far.

The 22-year-old is undoubtedly a talented player with immense potential and he has a big future ahead of him. A move to the Premier League could be the ideal next step in his career.

Tottenham could certainly use a quality playmaker and Kokcu would add some much-needed creativity and goals to their side.

The North London giants have been linked with a number of attacking midfielders in recent months and the Turkish midfielder could prove to be a solid, long-term investment.

It remains to be seen whether Feyenoord are prepared to let go of their manager and a key player in the same window.

The 22-year-old is a key player for the Dutch club and they are unlikely to let him leave for cheap. It is fair to assume that Spurs will need to pay a premium in order to secure his signature.
