Tottenham Hotspur signed the Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma at the start of the season.
However, the 26-year-old has not had the best of times at his new club. The Mali international midfielder has started just 8 Premier League games for Tottenham and his performances have been rather underwhelming.
Former midfielder Jamie O’Hara has now revealed that it has been a disappointing signing for Tottenham.
It will be interesting to see if the 26-year-old can get back to his best and help Tottenham in the next season.
There is no doubt that Bissouma is a quality player and he has proven his quality in the Premier League in the past. He was one of the best defensive midfielders in the league before moving to Spurs.
Tottenham have not been able to rotate players like Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg consistently because of the poor performances of players like Bissouma. If the former Brighton midfielder can regain his peak form, it will help out Tottenham as a squad and allow the manager to rotate his players more often.
O’Hara believes that the summer signing has been diabolical so far.
O’Hara said to talkSPORT: “I think the recruitment was poor.
“I think he brought in players who we thought were going to be really good.
“Like [Yves] Bissouma, had a fantastic season last season, he’s been diabolical this season, really bad.”
Tottenham recently sacked Antonio Conte and they are set to bring in a new manager.
The managerial change could be a blessing in disguise for the 26-year-old midfielder who was struggling to get ample opportunities under the Italian. Bissouma will be determined to prove his worth to the new manager next season.
