Another Tottenham star becomes victim of fans abuse – forced to deactivate his social media accounts

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s defeat against Bournemouth was a disappointing result for the team, and it seems to have taken a toll on right-back Pedro Porro.

Following the match, Porro has deactivated his social media accounts, including Twitter and Instagram, which is believed to be a result of online abuse he received from fans.

The match against Bournemouth was a thrilling encounter, with Spurs taking an early lead but eventually losing 3-2 due to defensive errors, including mistakes from Porro.

The defeat was met with frustration from fans, and it appears that some of them took to social media to express their disappointment, which likely led to Porro’s decision to deactivate his accounts.

This incident highlights the growing concern of abusive behavior towards players on social media. In recent years, there have been numerous cases of players facing online abuse, including racial remarks, threats and insults. This type of behavior can have a severe impact on the mental health, who are already under immense pressure to perform on the pitch.

This was not the only incident involving Tottenham fans today. During the game, Davinson Sanchez was viciously booed after he was blamed for the second goal Spurs conceded. He was booed at every touch until manager Crisitan Stellini had to take him off which was met by a big round of applause from fans.

Hugo Lloris has since slammed the behaviour of the fans expressing his shock on the incident.

Tottenham will face Newcastle in their next match which will once again be a must win game for them. Newcastle are currently 3rd with 56 points, 3 points ahead of Tottenham but with a game in hand.

If Tottenham can beat them, they will only 3 points behind them which will be a huge boost to their push to finish top 4.
