‘Another new signing’ – Further good news for Postecoglou ahead of Saturday’s big match

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham have received a major injury boost as Rodrigo Bentancur was pictured in training earlier today.

The Uruguay international has not played since rupturing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee in February against Leicester City.

He was perhaps one of Tottenham’s best players last season if not the best before his unfortunate injury.

The midfielder has been working hard behind the scenes to recover from the injury.

And he took the next step in his rehab as he joined the Tottenham players in the warm up ahead of the training session on Thursday.

However, according to Football London, the player is not fully back in training and returned back to his individual work after the warm up.

Ange has previously revealed the Bentancur is working hard but it won’t be until November that the club will start integrating him into the team.

The Australian suggested that his return would be like “another new signing” for Tottenham.

Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr have become the preferred duo right now for Ange. However, Bentancur, Bissouma and James Maddison could potentially become one of the strongest midfield in the league.

Meanwhile, Cristian Romero is fit and will be expected to start against Sheffield United despite the injury scare against Ecuador during international duty.

Tottenham will hope to continue their excellent start to the league. They are unbeaten so far in 4 games, winning three and drawing one.
