Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has confirmed young forward Dane Scarlett has picked up a hamstring injury.
The 19-year-old was called back from his loan at Ipswich Town where he struggled to get regular playing time, restricting him to only 12 appearances, all from the bench.
But the player unfortunately has become the latest victim of the injury curse at Tottenham.
Speaking to the media ahead of the game against Manchester United on Sunday, Ange Postecoglou confirmed that the young striker has picked up a hamstring injury in training.
He said (via Football London): “Dane Scarlett has picked up an injury in training so he’s out…Dane hamstring”
Tottenham have been terribly unfortunate with injuries. A total of 20 players from Ange Postecoglou’s squad have experienced injuries at various points throughout the season.
Another point of concern for Tottenham should be that a big chunk of these have been hamstring injuries. Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Ben Davies and now Dane Scarlett – all have been victims of hamstring problems.
The recurring hamstring issue plaguing the squad is definitely something for the Spurs coaching and medical team to analyse and address.
