Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has shared a significant update on Cristian Romero ahead of the match against Manchester United.
The Argentinean defender picked up a hamstring injury against Everton which forced him off at half-time.
He was initially expected to miss four to five weeks of football but has made a remarkable recovery since then.
The 25-year-old is close to returning and recent reports claimed that he feels ready and wants to play against United on Sunday.
And Ange has now shared an update on him while speaking to the media ahead of their trip to Old Trafford.
He confirmed that the World Cup winner is the only one from the injured players to have returned to training.
When asked whether he is close to returning to the team, Ange said (via Football London): “He’s just started training so fair to say it might be a bit quick this weekend.”
Micky made it to the bench in his last game and could be given the nod to start. And Ange could possibly have the option of starting new signing Radu Dragusin as well if he gets his work permit by then.
It is expected to be an exciting clash with Spurs going into the game as favourites.
