Tottenham received encouraging news regarding Dominic Solanke’s fitness ahead of their pivotal London derby against Fulham this weekend.

Manager Ange Postecoglou confirmed that the striker, who experienced discomfort during Spurs’ 2-2 Europa League draw against AS Roma, is fit and available for selection.

Addressing concerns, Postecoglou stated that while Solanke is dealing with some soreness, it isn’t a major issue. He emphasized the Englishman’s importance to the squad, especially given the club’s current injury challenges.

As quoted by The Standard, Postecoglou stated:

“Yeah, he’s [Solanke] fine. He’s a bit sore but we’re obviously really thin squad-wise, especially in that front third, so he’s working hard for us. At this stage nothing that’s too significant.”

Tottenham’s forward line has been significantly impacted by injuries, with Richarlison, Wilson Odobert, and Mikey Moore all sidelined. Solanke’s availability is a much-needed boost as Spurs aim to maintain momentum in both the Premier League and European competitions.

Having joined Spurs in the summer from Bournemouth for €64.3 million, Solanke has been gradually finding his footing in North London. After a slow start, the striker has begun delivering, recording six goals and three assists across 17 appearances in all competitions this season.

The recent Europa League fixture against Roma further underscored Solanke’s growing importance. Spurs took an early lead through Heung-min Son’s penalty, only for Roma to equalise via Ndicka’s header.

Tottenham regained the advantage when Brennan Johnson converted a precise assist from Kulusevski. However, a late goal from Hummels in the 91st minute resulted in a draw.

While the result was disappointing, Solanke’s effort and commitment during the match highlighted his increasing influence on the team. His form and fitness will be critical as Tottenham seeks to climb higher in the league standings and navigate their challenging schedule.

With injuries limiting attacking options, Solanke’s contributions could play a decisive role in Spurs’ aspirations this season under Postecoglou’s leadership. His steady improvement provides hope for sustained success in the weeks ahead.
