Tottenham signed Pedro Porro from Sporting CP earlier this year in January.
The 24-year-old initially struggled to get going in the Premier League, but he seems to have found a new lease of life under Ange Postecoglou.
The Spaniard looks a player transformed and his performances have been outstanding so far. He has established himself as a key player for Tottenham and his performances have attracted praise from popular pundit Michael Bridges on the Optus Sport Football Podcast.
The Optus Sport pundit has revealed that Porro is a player with real quality and Postecoglou has managed to get the best out of him. The Australian manager’s attacking approach seems to have transformed the Spaniard and he is contributing at both ends of the pitch.
“When I look at how Spurs are playing at this moment in time, the standout performer for me, and you can talk about other players and things that are going on, is Pedro Porro, he has been absolutely outstanding, his stats are through the roof, the way he has transformed his game under Ange Postecoglou, it shows when you have a player with pedigree and Ange works with them and gives them a new lease of life, you can see the players love working with Postecoglou,” Bridges said.
He has six assists in 16 league matches this season and he has undoubtedly been one of the best fullbacks in the league this season. It will be interesting to see if he can continue in his rich vein of form and help Tottenham finish the season strongly.
The North London outfit will need his creativity from the wide areas, especially with wingers like Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic sidelined.
The Spaniard is likely to get better with coaching and experience and the Tottenham fans will certainly be excited to see him develop under their new manager.
