Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is currently on loan at Spanish club Villarreal.
The 27-year-old was loaned out after falling down the pecking order at the North London club and he is set to return to his parent club at the end of the season.
Lo Celso clearly does not have a future at Tottenham and a permanent move away from the club would be ideal for the Argentine international.
According to TYC Sports, Aston Villa are keen on signing the 27-year-old playmaker at the end of the season and they are set to ‘make a formal offer’ to sign the player.
Unai Emery clearly rates the player highly having worked with him at Villarreal and it remains to be seen whether Lo Celso is prepared to stay in the Premier League next season.
The 27-year-old has not had the ideal spell in England and a move away from the Premier League could appeal to him in the summer.
It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few weeks.
There is no doubt that Aston Villa need to add more quality in the final third and someone like Lo Celso could improve them going forward. He will add creativity, vision and technical ability to the attack.
If Emery can provide him with the necessary first-team assurances and convince him about the project at the West Midlands club, the Argentine international might be more open to the idea of playing for Villa next season.
