Tottenham Hotspur’s summer signing, Destiny Udogie, is expected to remain at the club despite the recent sacking of manager Antonio Conte, according to comments from his agent.

Udogie, a young left-back signed from Udinese for £15m, was immediately loaned back to the Italian side for the remainder of the season.

Conte, known for his preference for experienced players, had previously overlooked another summer signing, Djed Spence, a promising right-back from England.

Despite Spence’s impressive season at Nottingham Forest, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League, Conte opted to start out-of-form Emerson Royal, with Matt Doherty as backup. In January, the club further reinforced the right-back position by signing Pedro Porro, who has now become their first-choice option.

Conte’s departure has raised questions about the future of young players like Spence and Udogie. However, Udogie’s agent Stefano Antonelli confirmed in an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb that the player’s future at Tottenham will not be affected by the managerial change.

He stated:

“He is a Tottenham asset, then it’s clear that I hope that positive justice will be done to Paratici. We are all used to destruction, but for the good of our football, I hope this thing will resolve as soon as possible.

The Tottenham project does not change, Udogie was bought with everyone’s approval and many other professionals have called him important for the club.”

Furthermore, Udogie’s agent ruled out the possibility of another loan move and confirmed that the player will be staying at Spurs next season.

When asked about the possibility of another loan move, the agent very confidently replied:

“I’m ruling it out now.”

The 20-year-old has been in impressive form, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 26 appearances across all competitions for Udinese this season.

With Ivan Perisic’s future at the club uncertain and Ryan Sessegnon being the only other option for the left-back role, Udogie could have the opportunity to impress the new manager at Tottenham next season.
