Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for the Udinese attacker Gerard Deulofeu.
A report from Mondo Udinese claims that Tottenham could look to make a move for the 29-year-old Spaniard at the end of the season.
The report claims that Tottenham came ‘very close to signing’ the player during the January transfer window, but the move collapsed eventually because of the player’s injury.
Tottenham went on to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal until the end of the season. The report claims that Tottenham could return for the Spaniard at the end of the season.
Deulofeu was a key player for the Italian club during the first half of the campaign, and he managed to pick up three goals and seven assists across all competitions.
The versatile 29-year-old has not played since 22 January, and he will be hoping to recover quickly and get back to his best soon.
The former Premier League winger can play on either flank and as the centre forward as well.
His versatility will be an added bonus for Tottenham if they manage to sign him. The north London club could certainly use more depth in the front three and signing an experienced player like him could prove to be a wise decision.
Deulofeu is used to the Premier League, having played for clubs like Watford and Everton in the past. He could make an immediate impact at the north London club if the transfer goes through in the summer.
