The wing-back position is beginning to improve at Tottenham Hotspur with the arrival of Ivan Perišić to the north London club. The veteran winger will now help the left flank of the pitch, and now they’ll look to address the right side.

Spurs are eyeing candidates for the right-side, with the most prominent target being Middlesbrough’s Djed Spence, and there are new developments on this front.

According to journalist Jacque Talbot, Tottenham has put in an offer for Spence; however, Nottingham Forest is involved as they hope to keep the 21-year-old who was on loan to them and played a role in their promotion back into the Premier League.

Nonetheless, the allure of playing UEFA Champions League football could play a role in helping Spurs secure a deal for Spence this summer and have him reject a permanent stay with Nottingham Forest.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold adds that Spence is looking for a club that he’ll get regular football at, and with Tottenham, the competition the defender will see is Matt Doherty.

The fact we are only competing for him with Forest says everything about our transfer strategy.

What is the allure of playing behind Doherty and Emerson in CL matches? What we need are guys that want to come to Spurs to win something (lol), not to chase Neymar up and down the pitch in the CL.

Regular football needs to be earned!

Still, if he’s not capable of getting in ahead of Doherty and Royal then Forest are welcome to him!
