Report: Tottenham among four clubs eyeing Inter Milan midfielder Arturo Vidal

Over the summer, the north London club added Pape Matar Sarr, who remained on loan at FC Metz and will be heading to Spurs after the season. Then last month, Tottenham Hotspur continued the improvement of their midfield when they added Rodrigo Bentancur from Juventus.

Manager Antonio Conte will want this position to be strengthened over the summer. Perhaps the Italian tactician might want to reunite with a veteran player to serve as an on-field coach to deliver his message.

According to Calciomercato, Tottenham is one of four clubs eyeing Inter Milan midfielder Arturo Vidal. The report states that along with Spurs, clubs like Marseille, Aston Villa, and Galatasaray want to grab the 35-year-old whose contract expires in June.

Vidal might be familiar with Conte and what he expects from his midfielders. However, the Chile international doesn’t fit what the Premier League has with their criteria.

Spurs are pursuing young players with upside thus far, with Managing Director of Football Fabio Paratici now in charge. However, Conte could ask for an older player familiar with to have a veteran presence. It will be interesting to see if both Paratici and Conte see eye-to-eye on this target.

Going after 34 year old Vidal just makes no sense.I don’t see Levy sanctioning such a buy,no sell on value. His best days are behind him I would suggest and he hasn’t been tested in the PL before.
