“I have zero confidence in this man. I don’t care if he’s a nice guy” Tottenham fans react to Nuno Santo’s pre-NŠ Mura press conference

Tottenham fans are unhappy with Nuno Espirito Santo as the team continues to struggle for form.

They have since forgotten the fine start to the season after they lost their last three consecutive league matches, conceding 3 goals in each of them.

Their latest drubbing by Arsenal in the North London derby hasn’t gone down well with the club’s fans and a majority of them have lost faith in Nuno Santo.

It is still early days, but these fans have seen enough to suggest that their team will not get better under the former Wolves manager.

Their next match will be against Slovenian side, NŠ Mura in the Europa Conference League later today.

The club posted Nuno Santo’s pre-match press conference where he concedes that they have been poor and needed to react to their recent run of form in the game.

The Twitter post gave frustrated Spurs fans the chance to pour out their anger in the comments. Here are some reactions:

An events arena. Built for one off spectacles of huge commercial value…..not a football ground where you go week in week out to support your local team. Levy should have left us alone and done his own thing with a stadium, but then he needed something to saddle the debt to and mugs to pay for it.

Some people I know went, they said it felt virtually empty. The official attendance would have been under half full. There’s absolutely now way it was, not even a quarter…

It could be that with manager after manager being undermined that the players feel they’re more influential on proceedings than the board even.

This is the problem when you don’t show proper leadership, or a cohesive set of values that everyone can understand clearly. When you make building a stadium your priority over all else, The people involved will just feel the club is about one thing, making money for the investment business. In a way, why should the players be passionate if the people that own the club aren’t? This is dysfunction from the very top level filtering down. This idea of ‘core values’ and a ‘DNA’ being important to anyone at ENIC is utterly laughable.

Very similar issues to the mob down the road. Which is pretty much ENIC’s business model anyway. So no surprise there then…

That’s like being anti-Levy, I’m not ‘anti’ anyone for the sake of it, if they benefit the club then nobody’s got anything to say about anything. Levy isn’t of benefit to the club and I didn’t feel Jose was (for a set of reasons that must be taken into context).

We need a manager who can bring positive competitiveness back to this rabble. The double sessions Poch was questioned about is probably what this bunch of wastrels could do with. Bielsa would be good, just train hard, play hard keep up the intensity or you’re toast.

You also need a transfer policy that facilitates this of course…

Most were probably season tickets and corporate group tickets given away to whoever would take them.

I mean, is this what they meant by ‘watch us rise’ in the new stadium, playing in this joke of a competition against unknown dross?

The players responsible for the Zagreb loss still stink the club out. Winks, Ali, Doherty, Dier should have been gone in the summer. Last night was nothing to write home about. This competition is shite.

It is heartbreaking to think about what this stadium with the right owners could be like and what a team fitting to play there could be like. It is a tragedy worthy of a Shakespearian play that this club is being held back from being a club that the very best players in the world should be playing at winning the highest accolades. Can you imagine the atmosphere there? Can you imagine the growth in the fanbase worldwide? Wake the F**K up ENIC and LEVY it all begins and ends on that pitch with the team and its success.

They are above Rennes on goal difference, with Vitesse one point behind the pair.
The winners of the group go into the last 16, while the team who finish second have to play a round before then – against a team who finish third in a Europa League group.
So finishing top of the group is worthwhile really – it saves you having two games in February.

Really is the dregs of the dregs this competition if you can call it that.

Indeed. I really worry the few promising young players with a spark and drive about their game might become Winkses and Deles.

Skippy is great, but still young and it’s early to pin all our midfield hopes on him. I hope we won’t break him.

I was constantly bemused by the commentary of Drury and Allen. When Kane and Sonny came on you would think we had beaten the European champions.

Mark my words when Kane comes up against Mings and Hause on Sunday he won’t get a sniff of the ball.Yes he scored a hattrick tonight, but he won’t get that sort of time and space against Villa.

Their substitutions did demonstrate the pausity of ability in our second string players. If Nuno did sub Dele off for the weekend,I bet he had a change of heart when he disappeared down the tunnel straight away.

I would just play Romero and Roden now…this season is another transition so stick them together through thick or thin…I’m convinced Levy has something to do with Dele playing all the time…get rid…take Doherty and Winks with you, in a cab, somewhere in the Amazon where they will get lost forever…

Problem with the second string is the accuracy of passing, even short one, i felt too many were sloppy and intercepted or deflected. They all really need to work on this, fast, crips accurate passing fundamental to playing well.

Much better viewing with Kane, Son, Lucas, and PEH. Shame our second string can’t even be trusted to see out a home (!) game against Mura.

Dele, Doherty, Winks are on my sell list. They don’t do anything. Gollini and Emerson are next up, but they’re new signings, so I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

I don’t agree. He’s getting a lot of stick these days – and rightly so, given the ridiculous international travel fiasco – but he played very well at the start of his time here. He’s a bit like Reguilon – both started well and both have taken a nosedive over their time here.

Begs the question “how the hell are we coaching them?”

I was away for 10 minutes and we concede to Mura? Holy cow. Gollini really can’t keep a clean sheet to save his life.

And listening to the commentators, Moura, Son, and Kane might be coming on? That’s just ludicrous that they can’t even get a rest against this pub side.

eddie

The lack of info regarding this match is an indication of everyone’s apathy towards it.

Muro must be one of the worst teams ever to play in Europe, they are a pub side. The pen aside Dele has done nothing and two shots against this lot is embarrasing.

It would be interesting to know the true attendance.

He ain’t in the ‘first-teamer’ club. They’re only interested in their mates. The ‘kids’ are white noise. I so want us to be rid of Dele as soon as is reasonably possible.
We should be going into the break 4 or 5 up, but Dele and Lo Celso have decided they’re scoring the goals, and the actual striker in the team can go fk himself.

CzechSpur
CzechSpur

If you can’t shine against Mura, you’re done. For me, Doherty and Winks are absolutely uninteresting footballers, and it is only ever more apparent tonight. Dele and Lo Celso aren’t doing much either.

So far, we’ve had what, two shots against the Slovenian heavyweights, and we wonder why we can’t beat Palace, nevermind Arsenal and Chelsea? There’s a huge lack of creativity throughout the squad. Scarlett might as well not play at all.

Well that 1st half against arse was the worst I’ve seen tbh. School boy errors that were sackable from someone on his salary with his alleged experience. Playing an attacking midfield and then lobbing balls over their head forcing them up front and leaving huge gaps for the gooners to exploit in the middle of the park. Bizarre. Then doing nothing about it until half time when we were 3-0 down. Even Mason didn’t foul up that bad.
