A 52nd-minute goal from Andorra left the Republic of Ireland in a bit of a spot, and Tottenham’s loaned-out attacker Try Parrott gave Stephen Kenny’s boys the required oomph which resulted in a mighty win by a margin of some 3 goals.

Elsewhere, Parrott demonstrated an improvement on his domestic form with better total actions / successful actions, as well as passes / accurate passes.

Troy remains a very long way away from being a player with a discernable identity, let alone one with of Premier League standard. If Conte comes, I would be extremely keen to return the boy to Spurs and see what one of the best coaches in the world might be able to do with him.

He’s veering about a lot…
Reasons to be negative.
Conte is similar to Mourinho in his style of football but without Mourinho’s track record. He has always fallen out with his previous employers and he needs top players to succeed. He is not a project manager. Many Spurs fans were unconvinced by Mourinho’s appointment. Why do they now seem convinced that Conte is the right man for the job? What sane man would work for Levy? There is little money for transfers, with or without the sale of Kane and Levy has never backed his managers. We are two years behind the top clubs in terms of squad strengths and some of them are already recruiting for the new season.
Reasons to be positive.
Can Levy really carry on after over twenty years of ineptitude without finally getting something right? Before I hear howls of protest as to his fabled business skills which seem to be based on enriching Enic and himself at the expense of running a successful football club, and that we are different to other clubs, which of course we are as we are a laughing stock, I see this as his last chance to get it right. What CEO can keep getting it wrong for over twenty years without having to face the consequences of his actions? So from the perspective of probability, something concrete should happen.
There are also vague rumours that Spurs have found a sponsor for the naming rights which should help cash flow unless it is used only to repay debt.
There appear to be attempts to move on some of the dead wood behind the scenes. There are strong rumours that Aurier is going and it was reported today on Al Jazeera that Moura will be sold to a Middle Eastern club so there might be a modicum of movement in the right direction.
All in all, it depends whether one is a glass half full or a glass half empty
person?
Mate that’s exactly what I would’ve written if I could be arsed 👏🏾
Yup. Managers are seeing beyond their salaries and seeing the real Levy we fans have seen for years. Hopefully the end is nigh for the little twat. If he doesn’t get Conte in and with the Poch nonsense put to bed, Levytime might finally be up. We are at nearly 50 days trying to convince a manager to join us, a supposed super league club. Unprecedented. Shambolic.
Italian journalists reporting that Conte is veering towards saying no.
Reports from Italy that Conte is not convinced by offer from Daniel. Another vote of no confidence in Levyball.
Exactly. Not with the squad he’d inherit. Unless Levy’s promised him a ouija board to bring us back from the dead.
Levy has exposed himself (not like that!) by talking to Conte. Conte is purely and simply about winning, and winning now, not maybe winning in 5, 10 or 15 years’ time. I’m sure he has gone to Levy and said something along the lines of ‘This current squad is dog sh*t. I want to win big prizes like the league and not the Carabao cup and I want to win them in 12-24 months max. To do that I need you to keep Kane and give me £150m-£200m plus income from sales of the dross. That is the minimum this club needs to even have a chance of thinking about challenging. If you’re serious about having a winning football club that’s what it will take. What do you say Daniel?’ We know what the answer will be and that’s why Potter, Martinez or Mates-on will be our manager next season. We’re a joke club with the king of clowns as the chairman.
Probably worked out that on Levy’s money you can’t close the gap to City and Chelsea.
And we’ll be further behind when City and Chelsea and probably United strengthen again in the summer. Unfortunately.
If Conte thought he’d have a chance of winning the league within 2 years he’d take the job. Fact is we’re a million miles and probably 200m quid away from that possibility. That’s why he will turn us down. Gutted. Potter it is then 😩😂😩
Heard Johnny Giles give Troy some love on Off the ball podcast. Says he should return to the club, Giles is against loans for young players.
Must not have seen Skipps progress.
When people talk about winning they must mean a Cup or a Europa League, to think Conte could win the League is a stretch.
😭
Just read a report from Italy stating that Conte is veering towards turning us down. Apparently it’s because we’re too sh*t. Or words to that effect. Ain’t gonna happen 😔
Commenting on the ‘daily briefing’… gotta agree winning is paramount… but you can try to win in several ways… there are a lot of strategies, and formations and tactics out there. id rather see one (and some players) that fit in with: Audere est Facere
To Dare is to Do… IS the Tottenham Way. It’s synonymous with taking risks, attacking & glory. IF you can win AND embody those values then you’re doing well.
Conte has the winning side nailed down. His football is not Poch level attacking glory… but it’s more progressive and less defensive than Mourinhos. So… I hope we get Conte and Levy dares to back the guy with some funds (but getting Conte is looking 50/50 right now)
