Three days ago Rob Guest for Football London described Dele Alli as “undroppable”. Who knows how he came to that conclusion as it was a game in which he pulled off two sexy nutmegs but otherwise achieved nothing of any note as per my analysis which was based upon the facts and devoid of emotion.
The truth will out and Dele this time faced a better side than Wolves, as Aston Villa were lively and whilst not technically flawless, they incessantly got the better of Spurs.

Dele’s competency versus incompetency chart came back as another foray into the coin toss arena. Until the 24-year-old can get a handle on being consistent, he will forever remain a player waiting for a breakthrough moment.

Am I being mean by sharing facts with you? There’s more. Dele Alli lost possession 13 times, and 7 of those occasions were in his own half.
For Dele Alli’s undying (is that the same as living dead?) supporters, Spurs always sell their best players, so we will be watching the bit in the shirt for a long time to come.

Honestly, I never want to see Winks pull on the shirt again. He’s very much in the Joe Allen mould of player – safe passes of 5 yards, not aggressive in the tackle, not anywhere near dynamic enough in midfield for the English game. He’ll look like a worldbeater in a league which plays less quickly.
Dele, peaked early as a player and I don’t know if he has it in him to get back to anywhere near the Poch Years level – maybe he was played in a system which suited him (made him look) better?
Dier was OK yesterday but generally always disappoints, Bergwijn woefully underused, and goodness knows what Moura and Ndombele have done.
And we should have saved the wages and fees on Doherty, Vinicius and Bale. Totally pointless in keeping a player on stellar money who can’t play more than once a week – and only performs against week opposition. How embarrassing was it when Mason told the press that BALE thought it was better for himself and his body that he didn’t start??
What a mess of a club, shambles and we don’t deserve this.
Bale get a grip of ur self
Dele is crap he takes 3-4 touches to control the ball by that time the balls away down other end of pitch n deles on the floor looking for a free kick
He’s crap and any one who thinks he’s a top player plz sign ur self in to get help
Another poster from yesterday would tell you “at least he wants to get on the ball” – well I would say his involvement in possession is mostly detrimental to the team effort.
In the first half, his urgency was as if we had been 7-0 up. Coasting and taking two or three touches more than he needed to. I thought he was marginally better in the second half, but the overall result? Nothing much of note.
This season really can’t end soon enough – and then I want to see a series of ruthless sales.
what was he thinking leaving bale, lucas, ndombele and lo-celso on the bench and not pulling winks and dele at half time, shows a lack of maturity.
We may have well just played with 9 men yesterday, with the contributions of ‘Ryan’s Mates’.
Really bad call giving him the reins for the last few games – things have gone from bad to worse. They all look so dejected it a shame.
I just hope that the managerial situation is resolved as soon as possible and the players can get a coach with a plan in mind – like making appropriate subs and picking a team based on more than knowing them.
Dier played well yesterday & made a number of key blocks…,son was awful I think hes thrown the towel in. Ultimately against any midfield that is functional & has a bit of quality in it we struggle…players simply arent fit enough….
dele as usual failed to turn up, thats why jose stopped playing him, lazy and overrated, having said that they were all a disgrace last night. cant blame mason as levy put him in a position that he is not up to.
When I saw the line up I predicted who our first 2 subs would be & that Alli would play the entire game…. pathetic really. The icing on the cake for this season would be Arsenal & Everton finishing above us & Salah winning the golden boot with an 88th minute goal…😏
now do son
Again Dele got found out we were on a hiding for nothing with a spine consisting of Dier Winks and Ali…….a must win game but not with the best formation / tactics / players !
Everyone on the bench must have given up with training if these losers are picked because of how hard they have trained…..
