"The more I see him live, he reminds me of Wayne Rooney."

"This is a striker, by the way, not many players can see that pass let alone play it!"
Goals, assists, excellent all-around play…@rioferdy5 is loving what he is seeing from Harry Kane 🔥 pic.twitter.com/uT5ekpVLpo
Rio Ferdinand has compared Tottenham’s Harry Kane to some of the Premier League’s greatest attackers of all-time, namely Wayne Rooney and Thierry Henry. Whilst these are flattering claims to make, I believe that we’re watching something far more interesting happening with Kane, a player that is rapidly shaping up to ‘explode’ – just like Mourinho promised him, in the All or Nothing show.
For me, Kane is a more sophisticated talent that Rooney and certainly less irritating than Arsenal’s front-man who spoke as if his every word was part of some poetic masterpiece. At 27, Kane has several years of peak performance ahead of him and is looking ready to create his very own legend.

A Greaves/Hoddle/Berbatov/Robbie Keane hybrid?
Kane has had serious injuries, overcome them and become stronger.
No comparison.
Rooney and Owen were past their best at 24, both relied on youthful vigour and energy to supplement their skill. Rather like Gareth Bale?
Whereas Harry is smart. He has grown in strength and smarts and is developing the vision to create goals for others, as well as maintaing his prowess as an exemplary goal scorer. 15 straight pens was it yesterday? Goals with left foot, right foot and headers? He is still growing. He is a monster, up there with Hoddle and Greaves as one of our true historic legends. Every team in the PL would pay top dollar to have him.
Problem Kane will have (in history) is the argument “but what did he win”. I think it’s a valid argument to say we are potentially seeing one of the best players to ever play in the PL. With his range, ability and reading of the game… But until he wins one of the big two pots, he will always be considered as an outside suggestion to one of the greats. I would be shocked if he gets balon dor (or what ever guise it goes by now) despite being the best in the world right now. If Kane were at Barca, Real or Liverpool or City he would have won that at least once by now.
True – but today City put in their first typical ‘firing on all cylinders’ performance of the season.
Could have been 5-0 quite easily.
That is down to too much too young, both playing from the age of 16, Owen especially was overplayed and got the injuries that he never recovered from despite playing on for a few years. Kane is a different animal who needed time, but he also has that something extra, of a determination to succeed that some don’t have.
We have already beat both Manchester clubs this year.. I say bring either on..
For sure. Rooney was like Owen. A world beater teenager.. Some hit their best while they are young.. Others evolve like Kane.
Not sure we want City in the Cup Final based off that performance…!
Rooney was finished by the age of 27, too many miles on the clock like Eriksen. Kane is getting better and better.
A Shearer/Sheringham/Gerrard hybrid.
For sure.. Kane is better than Shrek ever was.. And that Terry Henry guy was surrounded by a french world cup winning team, Viera and Pires and co he had quality feeders..
