talkSPORT‘s French football expert Julien Laurens believes that former Spurs coach Mauricio Pochettino is limbering up to be the next man in the Paris Saint Germain hot seat. Poch’s post-Tottenham time has been a series of ‘will-she won’t-she’ moments as the Argentine has been linked with a number of high profile sides, in order to reboot his managerial career.
Current PSG gaffer Thomas Tuchel is thought to be walking on thin ice, and of all the big name bosses currently between jobs, Pochettino would have to be in the reckoning?

Pochettino’s biggest problem is that these high profile roles attract serious competition and the 48-year-old has yet to win silverware. Some crazy football club boards might be looking for a bit more substance to their CV than having ‘once managed Spurs’.
I wish Pochettino well, but the longer he waits for the ‘right’ job, the longer it looks like he’s not in demand. Indeed, only aiming for the very best gigs in Europe is a dangerous game, but then maybe he never has to work again.

He’ll have won stuff, so nobody could level that bullsh*t at the guy anymore at least… if he achieves that alone it will be worth it for him.
Good career move, he deserves a club that backs him fully and that can win their league at a canter and have a crack at the C.L every season. The opposite of the scant resources he had at Spurs under old Baldy…
Real Madrid are currently in third place in their CL group and will need to get some sort of result next week against the leaders of the group, B Mgladbach,or could end up in the EL or worse still out of Europe all together. If ZZ got sacked and they give Poch the job it would be box office stuff if they got drawn against Mourinho & Spurs. The same fate could happen with PSG or United in the EL.
I bet he won’t become Arse manager ever!
Good luck to him, I have much respect for the guy he was a top Spur and loyal through and through. Shame Levy didn’t give him the support he has given Mou in the transfer market, but that’s all history now and Mou will take us to glory I’m certain of it.
A few reasons why PSG would suit him. He played for PSG making 70 appearances so knows the club and the area, he also played for Bordeaux so combined he can probably speak a very decent level of French.
Also, with Eurostar and private flights Paris is probably as quick and easy to get to as Manchester. Meaning his sons being based in London etc (one of them still at Spurs) isn’t such a distance.
I believe he will one day be our manager again. A few seasons in Paris winning a Ligue 1 title with relative ease will enhance his reputation and shut up all these plonkers that rate Arteta higher than him just because he won the FA Cup last season! F*cking unbelievable… 😂
PSG look destined for the CL trophy at some stage, so I would be heading there if I was a player or coach. Poch getting the job is about how much the board believe in him, if he can persuade them, then surely he cannot fail to win a trophy and get that monkey off his back. I think he might feel the pressure too much if he went to RM.
I cant see Poch anywhere but Real or United. PSG is a waste roll without a unified European league. Winning back to back French leagues with hopes of maybe one day winning the CL really has no future.
Yes it’s a dream job that carries enormous pressure, too much pressure if you ask me. As Managers who have done relatively well down the years have harshly been sacked IMO it’s not worth the hassle and potentially damaging your health in the process which is more important.
It’s his dream job and I would love to see him get it.
As said below Poch is well advised to stay clear of the rapidly declining RM hotseat, monumental job to instantly turn their fortunes around. Whilst he has the ability to succeed perhaps the pertinent question is how much time will he be given??
Pochs half that price at even money and outright favourite to be the new Real Madrid manager with Raul at 7/2 & Allegri at 7/1. ZZ getting 3 more games to save his job. Maybe Dele will be his first signing and like Modric and Bale leave Spurs to play the best football of his career at Madrid. I am sure he would also come calling for Reggi in the summer.
…But he will be on the Arsenal shortlist!
Akin to the Real Madrid hotseat stay well clear of managing poisoned chalice of a job PSG me thinks!!
