Ian Wright reckons that the reason why Harry Kane has stayed put at Tottenham is because of Jose Mourinho.
Kane is one of the biggest talents in world football and the England striker is a player that will walk into any team’s starting XI.
He has, however, not won a top trophy in his career and this has been seen as one reason why he might leave Tottenham soon.
At the end of last season, he said that he will not just remain at the club for the sake of it (ESPN), hinting that he might leave for another team if Spurs doesn’t match his ambitions.
They have made Jose Mourinho their manager and the former Chelsea boss is one manager that wins trophies wherever he has been.
Wright reckons that Kane will consider the appointment of Mourinho as a step in the right direction and he will not be thinking about leaving again because he will win trophies here.
He said in his Wrighty’s House podcast: “Harry Kane is playing at Spurs. Remember Alan Shearer has won his Premier League and he made that choice [to stay at Newcastle],
“Kane is in that same place where if Jose Mourinho doesn’t go to Spurs, and it’s another manager of not that stature for him, then I feel that would have been a problem for him.
“But I think that he now recognises that under that manager things could very well change in respect of Spurs getting something or winning something.”
Harry will stay at THFC for however long it takes to score another 67 goals, at the least but hopefully for the rest of his career & get a minimum of another 111 Premier League goals.
