How Carlos Vinicius Totally Disrupted Spurs’ Attack Line

This window wasn’t exciting because someone finally found the key to Daniel Levy’s ambition (forget the stadium build, anyone with AAA credit rating can borrow money), it was the type of player that José Mourinho brought in that was pivotal. Carlos Vinicius is an inspired buy, not because we needed a ‘Harry Kane back up- – itself an incredibly one dimensional description – but because he exceeded that potentially dull remit.

The assists above clearly demonstrate what a unique and disruptive edge the boy has added to the dynamic of our frontline.

With Kane off the pitch, the 25-year-old faithfully delivered in every possible discipline, bar an actual goal, yet this wasn’t to be confused with another ‘nearly’ performance that we’ve seen from previous efforts to ‘hire an understudy’.

Again, Vinicius is far more than a second string striker. Two weeks ago, I was clicking about looking for clips about the boy, simply to try and get a better understanding opposed to the usual YouTubes of him scoring. Something to provide a little more light and shade. Yes, we need goals from him, but he provides so much more. He disrupts, and we’ll look at the implications of that, too… for Dele Alli.

Definitely need someone for when Hojbjerg is out.
That’s what messed us up the season Wanyama was dominating with Dembele, their injuries killed us that season

The stature of the guy, when he becomes clinical in front of goal like he was last season in Portugal, I was trying to think exactly who he reminded me of.

It’s the Brazilian striker who played for Inter Adriano

Even missing that sitter, ‘Sid’ (Vinicious) looked more of a potent strike threat, in his first 90 minutes, than Robbie Soldado and Vincent Janssen did in their entire Spurs careers combined!

In fact, having watched it about half a dozen times, that assist for the first goal was so picture perfect it should be hanging in the Tate! To have that kind of vision and execution on debut, was mightily impressive.
