Daniel Levy has officially made it. In the words of Harry Enfield’s characters, Stan Herbert, he is considerably richer than you… The boy with nothing in the world but a degree in economics and land management and a Jewfro, has crashed into #398 in The Sunday Times Rich List.
Two sorts of people will be reading this, and having two very different reactions. Those that see the achievement as another massive nail in the ENIC out coffin; and those that are delighted for Daniel after his years of devoted service to making Tottenham Hotspur Football Club the iconic business venture it has become.
I always find these Rich Lists interesting from the perspective of whose on the same page as whom.
A clothing agent once told me that as he was struggling to get his collapsible rail and 3 body bags of samples out of his boot, a man with a small attaché case gave him a hand and when they chatted, it turned out that he had an appointment in the same building, on a different floor. His samples were cut diamonds.

Levy is surrounded on his page by people that you’ve probably never heard of. The very top of these pops is dominated by billionaires. Like Uncle Joe.
I wonder if it irritates Levy that his source of wealth is listed as ‘football’?

Past past past bla bla bla. Carry resentments then. I wouldn’t recommended it though. Let past bad things stop future good things from happening if you like. Explain not getting behind a new manager no matter who he is. All the Jose haters (our clubs manager) are bloody stupid idiots. If in 3 years Jose wins f all I’ll cuss him when he leaves just like I cuss poch. But right now he’s my manager therefore I’ve got his back.
I have supported the club for 58 years through thick and thin and will continue to do so. May I remind you that we won more silverware in the first 38 years of my support than in the last 20 years under Enic which has yielded one League Cup. A football club is more than a cash cow for a property developer. It carries the dreams and aspirations of it’s supporters on it’s shoulders. The fans can see that we stand little chance of silverware under an owner and his acolyte who do not even like football. I understand that it is just a business to them but to the supporters, it is far more and nobody enjoys having their dreams dashed.
I have supported Tottenham since 1962, despite living most of my adult life in South London. One can support the club without liking the current ownership as plenty of subscribers on this site do. This is an open forum as far as I know and if I choose to write from my armchair in Spain, I will continue to do so. Your comments are puerile and laughable.
So fkng wot anyway. Understand this. I get behind my team/club on my manor no matter what. (Its how i was raised) loyalty is important to me. there is no 99% loyalty 100% only. You support my club your stupid weak way on your armchair in spain. Crack on. All you think you know comes from what you read. Think you can take me on regarding my club? A few fools on here have tried over the last couple years and the guvnor has had to come rescue them.
You are clearly not a student of history. Joe Lewis made his money as a currency speculator. He made a fortune betting against sterling alongside George Soros in 1992 during Black Wednesday. He lost a billion dollars after buying an 8% stake in American broker Bear Sterns in 2008. He also bought a 28% stake in Mitchell and Butlers during the Lehman Brothers crisis. If you are getting my drift you will understand that he was and still is an enormous risk taker. Tottenham is low risk for him, but sometimes when the business model needs a rethink, you have to adopt a new strategy. Levy is not the man to take the club forward. He knows nothing about football. He doesn’t even like it. Is that too hard for you to understand?
What element of people give a FCK about Levy’s bank balance? More so than winning a cup? How do Jo and levy benefit massively? Wages you mean or do the think they’re taking money out the business?
Rinsing the Tottenham brand for all its worth?
Why? Give them some time to show us what they can do now we have a few quid. You don’t know how they’re gonna operate now we’ve got a few quid. I’d never get rid of them now.
Joe lewis is a low risk business man. He runs all his businesses the same way. Is that hard to understand? Levy does as he’s told. Is that hard to understand too?
Anyone who thinks levy is nicking Tottenhams money in duffle bags is a moron. Joe pays him too much coz he takes all the flack he should be getting.
ENIC, Lewis & Levy OUT !!!
Well put.
Us ‘ordinary’ folk can never experience what this wealth can provide, although I do like a raspberry Magnum every now again! Liverpool, Citeh, Man Utd and Chelsea fans have had the luxury recently of knowing what investing in their club can provide. Don’t get me wrong the owners of these clubs have benefitted too, but as it’s been stated, Joe and Levy invested solely for their own benefit. I have nothing but contempt for them.
Daniel Levy has made his fortune rinsing the Tottenham Hotspur brand for all its worth while at the same time dragging that brand through the mud at every opportunity.
Fkin Scummmy Cnut
As neither of them have put a penny into the club since Enic bought Sugar’s stake and all they have done is enrich themselves whilst racking up a £650 mill debt, they might consider the idea of making the club an interest free loan as we do not appear to have the funds to buy new players. Once football has resumed normality, that loan could be paid off quite quickly or when they finally receive the sponsorship money for the naming rights. Unfortunately, this line of action is not in Levy’s playbook and his addition to the Rich List makes the initial furloughing even more disgusting.
F@ckin irritates me that he’s mentioned in the same breath as football
We know there is an element who derive more satisfaction from news like this than they do from spurs winning on a weekend. For them it is the accountancy cup that matters above all else. What they never recognise is that while Joe and Daniel benefit massively they themselves do not.
