The Daily Mail understands there is one less club in the running to take Harry Kane away from us, and in the process all of our hopes and dreams.

Mail Online understands that Real Madrid will not make a move for the Tottenham striker when the transfer window reopens. The Spanish giants have been a fan of Kane in the past but are not expected to make a major signing this summer because of the implications of the Covid-19 lockdown.
Real also spent over £300m last summer, according to transfermarkt.com, but headline signings Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Eder Militao have yet to make a serious impact and thus could act as the new blood for next season.
With Madrid not at the table, and Sky Sports reporting that Daniel Levy won’t sell Kane domestically. the Spurs chairman would be unable to start the bidding war he needs to take Kane’s price up towards £200m, and therefore the chance of the 26-year-old staying put are significantly higher.

Real will be waiting a few years to win a Ch Lg with what they have. If the deal was good enough for Real they would let Benzema go, especially if there was a chance Kane could replace him. The fans may love Benzema, but Kane would easily win them over. He’d score for fun in La Liga. Spurs would definitely need Ch Lg to involve any swap deal (so definitely out), but am inclined to agree that Real to Spurs is not a move any of them would make, hence the Isco comment. Levy is nortorious in deal making, but Aulas of Lyon said a similar thing to Fergie, over Lloris, then sold us Ndombele. Just shows, if the deal is good enough for the selling club it tends to happen. Fergie said he wouldn’t sell Ronaldo to the assassins at Real, the rest is history. Utd wanted Bale, I believe they offered more than Real, but it was Levy who said no. Fergie can say what he likes about the Berbatov deal, but he got him to effectively go on strike. That weakened us massively as we couldn’t respond in the transfer market and Levy has had nothing to do with them since. I am no fan of Levy but Fergie leached off us and other clubs for his own gain. Granted, that is football. Utd consistently paid the out the biggest wages and fees. Then came Chelsea. Now it is City’s turn. Next up, Newcastle? Clubs like ours and more recently Southampton struggle to compete because the ‘big boys’ come knocking, and this is where you are right. Spurs have got to be clever, just like Leicester are, and buy the right player without throwing money away. I don’t think we have the right staff to do it though.
Levys not changing. The billionaires plan has been consistant, unwavering, unchanging.. Its true Madrid are not the force they were since the galacticos really in recent memory. But they have just bought loads of players specifically attackers. Rodrigo will be taking over at some point the lads still a teen and a beast and they only bought him last year. Benzemas 32 so got at least a year or 2 left. He is loved there. Looking at madrids recent signings and squad then they have recently changed alot so players like hazard need time to bed in. Still not the force they were but look at bales cv now specifically the triple champions league wins in a row. Still the stuff of dreams. I can see kane wanting to go there now if they did come calling.. But Benzema coming to us? Why would he want to do that? Theres no chance any madrid player would want to come to us after recent years and pochs sudden rise and then demise. Treatment of players and managers, low wage, never winning anything. Levys been in charge for a long time now, word gets around, players and clubs seem reluctant to deal with him now. Like Sir Alex said about Levy after signing Berbatov “Never again, dealing with that man was more painful than my hip replacement”
Real Madrid are not the force they were, losing in Europe to City at home was a sign of that. Their last Ch Lg win was gifted to them by Liverpool’s Karius. Their squad has some ageing players too, Benzema being one of them. Kane is an upgrade on him hence the fit. Real as a club set the bar high, conquer Europe or nothing. Winning La Liga is never enough. Suarez is a great player, but I was looking at the closest thing as a like for like when I mentioned Lewandowski. Whether we have Kane or not Spurs do not and have not signed a world class player since Klinsmann. Ginola was quality, but consistently world class, I don’t know. Levy is never prepared to pay the premium fee or wages. If Spurs are to become successful that needs to change.
Not sure they need to strengthen looking at their squad, Benzema is loved there cant see them suddenly ditching him.. Alot also depends on their faith in their young strikers rodrygo and vinicius junior. Them and hazard are still bedding in.. With bale and hazard flanking any striker they dont need more than 4 or 5 strikers. Their midfield and defense is solid too.. Kane would be an ideal striker for any team really, loads of goals plus hes an all rounder. He will be a hero wherever he is unless his injuries take their toll.
Kane would be the ideal replacement for Benzema. Levy may not do swaps, but Isco, Benzema and £100m for Kane could work. Although Isco didn’t want to come a few years ago so why would he now? No way Real will stick with what they have got for next season. They need to strengthen.
