Tottenham’s favourite square peg Eric Dier is a surprise target for London rivals West Ham, according to today’s Daily Star, back page, (12/04).
Dier’s contract expires in June 2021 so Spurs face a keep or sell dilemma over the once-loved Englishman when the transfer window reopens.
The same source reported last month that the 26-year-old was hesitant to commit his future to the club unless he had reassurances over his playing time and preferred position now that he has reverted to centre-back.

Jose Mourinho did start Dier as a defender in four successive games before the season was postponed. The Portuguese has been a long-term fan of the player and is seemingly giving him every chance to prove his worth.
However, if Spurs did decide to sanction Dier’s sale then the Daily Star claims West Ham would be interested in bringing him across the capital.
Apparently the Hammers fancy Dier on the cheap because of his contract situation, but Daniel Levy won’t do business with rivals at a discount.
If West Ham want him they’ll have to pay over the odds, not under them.
