As we prepare to face Norwich City in the FA Cup on Wednesday night, Hugo Lloris isn’t expected to feature.
Tottenham will be looking to advance past Daniel Farke’s side in the fifth-round tie as we look to keep our trophy hopes alive this season.
In turn, ideally Jose Mourinho would have as close to a full-strength squad available as possible, but it doesn’t look as though that will be the case in midweek.
As reported by the Evening Standard, Lloris is being tipped to miss out due to the groin strain which ruled him out of the bitterly frustrating defeat to Wolves at the weekend.
It’s suggested that the Frenchman will be back against Burnley at the weekend which is a boost, while Paulo Gazzaniga will have to cover for him again on Wednesday.
With his experience and quality, it will arguably be crucial to have Lloris back in the coming weeks. With that in mind, perhaps it’s the sensible move from Mourinho and the medical staff to avoid taking any risks this time round.
The 33-year-old has made 16 appearances so far this season, conceding 26 goals while keeping just two clean sheets.
