“That’s complete paper talk” Touted Spurs Target Dismisses Reports

After speculation linked him with a move to Tottenham this summer, Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster has denied any contact.

The 36-year-old is an experienced operator having now plied his trade in the Premier League for a number of years.

However, he’s out of contract at the end of the season, and so question marks have been raised over where his future may lie.

As reported by The Sun, Spurs were said to be interested in a possible summer swoop as Foster could have added competition alongside Hugo Lloris.

Despite the presence of Paulo Gazzaniga and Michel Vorm in the current squad, it hasn’t stopped speculation regarding Foster, but the veteran shot-stopper addressed the transfer talk on Monday afternoon and dismissed it.

“That’s complete paper talk. But, I am out of contract in the summer,” he told talkSPORT. “There’s been nothing yet [a new contract offer from Watford] but it’s not something I’m really thinking about too much.

“I’m enjoying it, not because I’m trying to leave Watford, that’s not even an option and I can categorically say I’ve had no contact from anybody else, but I think it opens your options and gives you a bit of freedom.”

With that particular transfer rumour cleared up it seems, it remains to be seen who is a legitimate target for Jose Mourinho this summer to try and improve the squad.

For now though, there are bigger priorities for us in the coming weeks, and it starts with the FA Cup clash against Norwich City on Wednesday night which is quickly followed by our trip to Burnley on Saturday evening.
