Yesterday was a dark day for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.
The result against Chelsea was one thing; the collectively dreadful performance and mindless individual irresponsibility was another.
But what really left Spurs fans embarrassed was the alleged racist abuse directed at Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger from a member of the crowd.

Football has an incomprehensibly big platform worldwide. As we saw yesterday, that platform can sometimes be used to spread evil, but it can be often be used for good, and thankfully Jan Vertonghen has reminded us of that with a special Christmas present for one young Spurs supporter.

This is going beyond the typical club visit to a hospital, of which we are spammed by football club media teams at this time of the year. Vertonghen turning up at this kid’s door will be a moment he will never forget.
Twitter has been a miserable place to be over the past 24 hours – even more so than usual. Thank you Super Jan for parting the clouds, just a little bit.
