Pochettino Disappointed To Miss Out On Crucial Time With New Signing

Mauricio Pochettino has admitted in the Daily Mail he would rather Ryan Sessegnon stayed at Tottenham Hotspur over the international break.

The 19-year-old has only recently returned from a three-month layoff with a hamstring injury which has restricted him to only two late substitute appearances since joining Spurs from Fulham in the summer.

Despite this, Aidy Boothroyd has immediately recalled the left-sided player to his England Under-21 squad for upcoming matches against Albania and Netherlands, which Pochettino accepted with some frustration.

The Spurs boss is quoted by the Daily Mail as saying: “He suffered at Fulham at the end of the season with a big injury and we are working so hard to provide him with the best tool to be in his best form.

“He needs time to be the best but we are happy in what he is doing and that is why he is involved with England U21.

“I accept when the national team asks for your player. To be honest I prefer that the player should be here training with us, and available to play for 90 minutes and building fitness here in our concept but I accept that. We know he loves the national team and for the U21s Ryan is a very important player.”

Pochettino is notoriously cautious with introducing new signings to the first team, evidenced by Tanguy Ndombele and Giovani Lo Celso this season, as he likes to be comfortable that they are ready physically and tactically.

Two weeks on the training ground with Sessegnon would have been valuable time to help bring the teenager up to speed after his injury.

An international break injury has already cost us two months of Lo Celso this term, so fingers cross Sessegnon isn’t asked to do too much, too soon.

What can you do?

Supporting Spurs at the minute is like going for a walk and stepping in dog crap. No matter where you go and how nice the walk whenever you get home, yep, you’ve stepped in another dog egg.

Writing about it on here is like walking it into your house and smearing it all over the carpet.

When Kane tried to float round about 3 sheff utd defenders yesterday instead of passing you start to think he’s a prick too which just ain’t right.

Thats the carpets ruined. Im off for a walk.

I am sure that the lack of posting on this site is the result of the frustration that most contributors on this blog feel. It has been like watching a slow motion car crash during the last eighteen months. The whole debacle was completely inevitable and staring supporters in the face but some fans still believed in the Enic PR nonsense. Most if not all the supporters who write on this site saw this coming but there is little we can do.

Just reading some of the tweets Harry is posting…its strange when people back an investment company that have done everything in their power to get more revenue in based on borrowing more debt than most clubs in the world using fans money..YET, give nothing back to the fans but contempt…and no trophies……..
