“There used to be a football club over there”, was actually a misattribution, did you know that? It was written by journalist Ken Jones who spoke to Keith Birkenshaw as he was leaving the club.

Reading that piece from Ken, caused this sad fat dinosaur to well up. I therefore urge you to click the link beneath the highlighted quote, and tuck into the entire damn thing. Those that feel nothing afterwards, take this as the absolute final hint that this blog truly isn’t for you.
Sadness and Stupidity compete neck and neck at Tottenham these days. The sadness is the neglect of the football team and the overwhelming stupidity has been the neglect of Mauricio Pochettino.
TIME HOP
I had a fascinating conversation with a Spurs fan even older than me last week. All of his anecdotes were box office, but I particularly liked the line he gave the then ‘Alan Sugar’ at an AGM. “What do you want now?” bawled the Amstrad icon.
My guy replied, “A bucket of water, please”.
“What d’you want a bloody bucket of water for?!”
“To water the plants in the front 5 rows.”
Sugar stormed off, and the yes men in the front five rows who had spent the entire meeting to that point, popping up and down extolling the brilliance of Shuggs shrank into their seats.
ARE DIGNITAS OPEN ON SUNDAYS?
Alasdair Gold epitomizes the fetid bio culture of the THFC media room. Today’s latest steaming serving from Football. London is so desperately wrong, on so many levels.

Some idiot that no Spurs fan could ever possibly care about, threw a rugby ball, before some idiot game that no Spurs fan could ever possibly care about, had actually kicked off.
Hold the front page.
Images beamed across the USA/fan engagement/synergy/sports…
My apologies to any normal people that are battling against heaving up their Sunday dinner whilst reading such muck.
I loved Keith. We all loved Keith. We were Tottenham, from Lane.

Poor young yids having to wear red ties to school.
We’re still in this” league
“It is an NFL stadium and that’s the key message. From the very start during the design phase, we have had the NFL in mind. The anchor tenant is Tottenham Hotspur, but this is designed to be a permanent home for the NFL outside the US.”.
Aidan Mullaly, Head of Business Development, THFC, March 2019.
Yeah, what happened previously was incomprehensible. But they could still have redeemed themselves last summer and avoided the train wreck.. CL finalist status put them in a position to be able to upgrade CBs, wingbacks, defensive midfielders, creative no 10s. All the positions that obviously needed addressing could have been filled with better players. The opportunity to do that will not come again.
A Goal & 3 Assists for Captain One Season, Noice.
Please stop showing what other people tweet, I read them and your good self ON twitter.
Anchor Tennant’s😂😂😂😂😂
Will do. 😁
Bomb the Bulgarian bastards. Send in the RAF
So clearly England threw the Czech match for betting syndicates. A poor Czech side who lose at home tonight to Northern Ireland 2-3 in a friendly as England score 6 in Bulgaria against another awful side. There’s no way the Czechs would beat a 40% England even.
They do as they are told.
To mark our decline… Last season (world cup) 5 England players were considered starting 11 (rose, Dier, Alli, trippier, and Kane). Last 2 games only 3 in entire squad and 2 tonight.
Dybala was a deliberate decoy so Levy could feign ‘ambition’ and continue the spin. He could have shifted out several players to make room but he wanted to squeeze the last bit of juice of every piece of deadwood on our books. As usual.
The Wanyama situation was certainly beyond Parody. ‘You aren’t nicking him just cos the English window shuts early mate!’ Really Daniel? Recouping the original fee for a player that had spent the last 18 months injured isn’t enough for you? You’ve clearly got a fucking screw loose chum…
I am not expecting new players in January ,why bother now the horse has already left the stable and prices will be prohibitive oh shit that’s that then .12 months too late again baldy.
‘Tottenham’s time for significant action came and went last summer’

Belated recognition that as CL finalists Spurs were briefly a more attractive destination for elite players than they have ever been before or will likely ever be again.
Despite all their previous inaction, enic found themselves back in a position to rebuild the side completely to poch’s satisfaction. They had been gifted a status that made them capable of attracting players of the highest quality for multiple positions; players who would never previously have countenanced joining spurs.
Predictably, that unique opportunity to dramatically upgrade the team was squandered, much of it in haggling over a young Leeds prospect neither Poch nor Bielsa (nor anyone else) wanted. The rest of it disappeared in absurdly protracted negotiations over Giovanni Lo Celso, a more serious prospect but not one who had enticed any of the elite clubs in Spain, where he was best known.
Autumn is here and that fleeting golden aura of “Champions League Finalists” has vanished, replaced by the toxic, dystopian repercussions of enic’s historic 500 day period of neglect; a car crash poch could not have done more to forewarn them of.
Enic themselves have moved on psychologically, probably for good. They are fixated now on a far greater prize: that of joining a stratospheric elite of oligarchical NFL owners. Everything will be devoted to realising that dream.
In levy’s peripheral vision, he will be glad to see it is Poch – the guy who repeatedly pleaded with him to act – who is taking all the flak as the anchor tenant chickens come home to roost.
Unlike levy, poch will know the prospect of players like Dybala arriving has returned to the realm of fantasy, along with the prospect of a successful new project at spurs. Gone, like all the promise and possibility of that last unique summer.
Nope.

best comment !
NFL should stand for Norf fackin London
2 old men that are brain damaged enough already. No thank you.
It is interesting to read all the comments about the stadium from the NFL players and staff. They state that no detail has been left out. That so much thought has gone into its design and specification to make it an NFL venue. Then you think about the total lack of thought and effort that has gone into running and managing the football side of things. To the extent that even the basics of running a football club at this level are overlooked. Perhaps more than anything this has percolated into the physce of the squad and Pooch. They all know they are playing second fiddle to the NFL business model so why stick around and waste their careers on Levy and ENIC’s aspirations. That attention to detail regarding what is needed for an NFL team is totally missing from what is needed for a top EPL team. If flat earthers believe that the funds from any NFL related activity or rugby or music concert or whatever will find its way into the transfer kitty or squad wage businesss model for THFC they need to wake up from their self induced coma and take in the smell of the popcorn wafting all the way from the USA.
I’d play Jermaine defo later. Harry you’re dropped
MOST local traders had to close down did they? Some traders around the country had to shut down too because of rail tracks.
Plays around the NFL schedule😂😂😂😂 you’re killing me man😂😂😂
Why not look at it and say “it ain’t all bad” is it because negatively comes easier to you. Roll with it mate.
Can you remember the last time you cheered/jumped up when we scored a goal?
😂😂😂 second fiddle😂😂😂😂
Problem is, its a business…What will protests actually do if you pay to go to make them.
Can remember people cussing saying it wasn’t enough. If these NFL people are so powerful mek dem try remove our cockerel from the roof. They are no threat to THFC.
Just did the math – with Google’s help… £637m over 25 years @ 2% interest is £32m p.a. We’ll be paying something like this. Sponsorship could come in around £20m meaning a shortfall of £10-£15m per season.
If large dividends get paid out to shareholders over the next few years, there will be massive protests. I’ll be one of them!
The way I see it is that we are paying through the nose for this new stadium and that one of the advantages of this is the possibility of sponsorship. This money should rightfully be put back towards the debt.
Anchor Tennant’s 😂😂😂😂 sorry I tried not to laugh again
Rented out the place (whilst selling our brand) when we wasn’t using it and made millions for the club and the local economy. What’s not to like please. When the NFL mob are not here you would never know our stadium was an American football stadium too. If you went to spurs games you’d know this
currently 2 – likely 4 next season. That said, we cant predict the future. The NFL will be the future – as Gazza said, we are Anchor tenants not owners anymore.
Anchor Tennant’s😂😂 I can’t help but laugh every time I hear that.
Ha – no, I think you will see soon that Levy/Lewis are not so stupid as to spend ALL the extra money (Circa £200m) for an NFL able stadium and not see the rewards. The NFL is worth twice the PL spread over less clubs, and has had that value far longer than the PL with no threat of a break away league. The NFL only risk is franchise moves are not rare. Spurs will be the paying guest before long.
I see it.
You just can’t see the bigger picture mate can you. Move with the times brother.
The NFL are just paying guests. Gone now till next year when we’ll rinse dem again. Adel and skepta next😊I love my club I love my stadium I love it all being on my manor. I love TOTTENHAM.
Yep THFC has an American football stadium too. The NFL doesn’t have THFC. THFC will always rule her roost.
How many games a season in that NFL ting?
Yeah right😂😂😂😂
That makes no sense
The stadium sponsor along with AIA should cover it. The one thing we don’t need to worry about is money coming in. The money going out is the real worry.
The record is $800m over 20yrs in the US (so about £700m) that was in Canada and housed 2 of their top teams (one NBA one NHL). In football, the top is City (which is a dodgy one in my view, as the time it was signed they were not a top team and doubled the Arsenal one when they were). Anyway that is worth 400m in 2011 (Arsenal was £150m). Realistically it will depend on duration, but I would guess 10yrs at £100m is not unrealistic. If we can prove a future with NFL it could be worth £400m over 20yrs. So no chance in my non-expert view we would be lucky to see half that value.
Then add on that…I am 99% sure that the money will not be used for that because that is not how debt management works. They SHOULD use it for players, but they will use it for profits and dividend.
HSBC have money laundering since their inception. Nefarious connections all down the line. Most big banks are the same, but it’s the perfect choice for ENIC and their campaign of destruction of everything good and beloved.
The dark destroyer Nigel stepping back in the ring hopefully at our place (community tickets😁) would love to see him bash up eubank there. I’d pay. He must come out in spurs shorts
It would be nice if the stadium sponsorship income was enough to pay off our repayments on the £637m we owe. Anyone have any idea if this is at all likely?
yes – I agree. You cant escape though that NFL is valued at 11Bln compared to the PL’s $6bln (with NFL been valued that much for many many years and increasing but the PL is more “nevue riche”). So even if we get a small piece of the pie, and exposure our stadium value sky rockets and sponsors do too. We can only hope that is fed into the football team, but personally…I think the revenue from this will be used for an increased deal with the NFL to expand the games, and potentially a “franchise”. We will fast be that club that plays around the NFL schedule. rather than the main event.
Interesting stuff. The more I stare at this, the more appealing the NFL thing might be to a sponsor in that marketplace.
Which makes it more loathsome on a personal level.
We’ve signed more ‘commercial partners’ than players…
I heard (from a not so reliable source, but does have contacts in Spurs) that a stadium sponsor is in final stages of negotiation, and we will see a few more “partnerships” announce leading up to it so they are not over shadowed.
Personally I cant see any sponsor coming on board before the next NFL round of games. The football side is good, but the exposure on the NFL side is massive – so a sponsor will want to maximise that. I cant see any deal being longer than that with the NFL- so I predict a 10yr deal coming just before Summer next year.
