Tottenham Hotspur decided to part ways with Antonio Conte recently and they have been linked with a number of potential replacements.
According to journalist Valentijn Driessen (via Voetbal Primeur), the north London club are keeping tabs on the Feyenoord manager Arne Slot.
Driessen claims that Slot is on the list at Spurs and he is open to the challenge.
“I think Conte’s dismissal is very good news for Arne Slot, because I know he is on a list at Tottenham,” he said.
“He first wants to become champion with Feyenoord and go far in the Europa League, but he’s definitely on the list.
“That would be a great challenge for him. I think he is open to it, because he was also open to Leeds United. Otherwise he would have said ‘no’, because he submitted it to the Feyenoord management.
“If Tottenham want him, they can get him like that, they pay so much money… It’s nice that they’ve never won anything, because then you can be the first to win something.”
Slot has done an impressive job for the Dutch outfit this season and Feyenoord are currently on top of the Eredivisie table and six points clear of second-placed Ajax.
The 44-year-old Dutch manager is rated highly around Europe and he has been likened to the former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa because of his high-intensity attacking approach. An appointment like him could be quite exciting for Tottenham fans.
Furthermore, Tottenham have a number of quality attackers at their disposal and they will benefit from playing under Slot.
Spurs have been linked with the former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann and Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino as well.
The north London club will be hoping to challenge for major trophies in the coming seasons and it remains to be seen who they bring in as the replacement for Conte.
Slot is unlikely to abandon his project at Feyenoord and joined Tottenham right away and the London club will have to wait until the end of the season in order to appoint him.
