26-year-old Premier League ace ‘admired by’ Tottenham ahead of summer window

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur need to bring in defensive reinforcements at the end of the season and they have been linked with a number of players in recent months.

The latest name linked with a move to the London club is Max Kilman from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the 26-year-old central defender is admired by a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham.

In his column with CaughtOffside, Jacobs wrote: “There’s also interest in centre-back Max Kilman, who is admired by several Premier League clubs, including Spurs. He perhaps hasn’t had as consistent a season as in 2021/22, but I also don’t think he’s reached his full potential yet. Lopetegui has been encouraging him to be more positive on the ball.”

The North London giants will have to sign a quality partner for Cristian Romero and the 26-year-old Premier League defender could prove to be a useful option. He could prove to be an upgrade on players like Japhet Tanganga, Davinson Sanchez and Eric Dier next season.

Tottenham have been quite vulnerable at the back the season and they will have to tighten up defensively if they want to get back into the Champions League next year. Romero is currently the only reliable defender at the club, and Kilman could prove to be a quality partner for him.

The Englishman is yet to reach his full potential, and he is likely to develop further in the coming seasons. Regular football at Tottenham will help him improve as a defender.

Furthermore, the opportunity to play for a big club like Tottenham will be an attractive option for the player. A move to Spurs would be a major step up in his career and it would allow him the opportunity to compete for trophies in the coming seasons.

It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can agree on a fee in the coming months.
