Tottenham’s stalwart centre-back, Cristian Romero, has expressed his love for the city of London, revealing that it will forever be his home, even after his football career finishes.

The Argentine defender has been a pivotal figure under manager Ange Postecoglou, forming a formidable partnership with summer signing Micky van de Ven in the heart of the defense.

The leadership role given to him by the new manager has brought the best out of him and his raw passion for the club has made him one of the favourites among the Tottenham supporters.

And speaking about his love for the club and the city, he admitted that he has fallen in love with London.

He has an emotional attachment with the city because of the birth of his son and claimed that London will always be a the home for him and his family even after his career has finished.

Speaking to SWM, he said:

“I’ve been fortunate enough to live in a few different cities during my career, but nothing compares to London.”

“It’s a city with a brilliant story and, in my opinion, the world’s capital. I love the people here, the diversity and the history.”

“I think London will always be home for me and my family even when my career has ended. The city will always hold a special place in my heart because my son, the most important person to me, was born here in London. We’re really happy here.”

Romero’s quality is undeniable but his hot headedness sometimes makes him a liability.

He saw himself get a 3 match ban for a wild tackle on Enzo during the Chelsea game and soon after coming back to the team, he could have seen himself sent off again for a wild tackle on Callum Wilson against Newcastle.

But keeping his rash nature of his game aside, he is a quality centre-back and his availability is a huge boost for Ange ahead of a busy run of fixtures.

He has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in recent weeks and these latest comments will come as a boost for Tottenham.
