17-goal attacker linked with PL move urged to ‘play for Tottenham’

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Andreas Skov Olsen.

The 24-year-old has been in fine form for Club Brugge this season, scoring 17 goals across all competitions.

According to the Belgian club’s former player Paul Okon (h/t SportWitness), the winger should look to leave the Belgian outfit and join a big club like Tottenham.

Okon believes that Olsen is too good for the Belgian league now.

“Andreas… Andreas should never play for Club Brugge,” he told Het Laatste Nieuws.

“And I don’t say that out of disrespect for Club. Skov Olsen is a footballer for the absolute top in Europe.

“He should play for Tottenham, with their Australian coach Postecoglou – that’s how good Andreas is. You have to ask him why he still plays in Belgium…”

It will be interesting to see if Tottenham register an interest in the player in the near future. They could certainly use a goalscoring winger like him. Spurs and Arsenal wanted the player a few months ago.

Olsen is versatile enough to operate on both flanks. He could be the ideal replacement for Ivan Perisic who will leave Tottenham in the summer when his contract expires.

Olsen will add goals and creativity to the Tottenham attack and he would get to compete at a high level as well.

Spurs have been overly dependent on Son Heung-min for goals. Players like Richarlison have not been able to score goals consistently and Olsen could share the creative and goalscoring burden if he joins the London club.

A move to Spurs would be a major step up in the winger’s career and he will look to make his mark in the Premier League.

Tottenham will be hoping to compete for major trophies in the coming seasons. They have the bones of a very good squad and if they can add a couple of quality players to that, they should be able to match up to the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in the coming seasons.

Olsen would add some much needed depth to their attack and improve them.
