15-goal star ‘under consideration’ as Spurs aim to deliver Postecoglou’s ‘main priority’ in January

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are keen on signing the Portuguese winger Jota during the January transfer window.

A report from CaughtOffside claims that Tottenham have already begun plans for their moves in the winter transfer market and they have identified the 24-year-old as a potential target. The former Celtic star is ‘under consideration’ and he has worked under Ange Postecoglou in the past.

The opportunity to reunite with the Australian at the north London club could be an exciting option for him. The 24-year-old joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad earlier this summer, but the move has not worked out for him and he has found himself on the fringes of the first team.

Former Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo does not plan on using the Portuguese winger and it makes sense for him to leave the club in January.

Tottenham are looking to bring in a quality winger who can replace Ivan Perisic. The Croatian is expected to leave the club in the coming months. Meanwhile, Manor Solomon is sidelined with an injury and Richarlison has not been able to live up to the expectations.

Signing a goalscoring winger is the ‘main priority’ for Tottenham and Jota certainly fits the profile.

The 24-year-old picked up 15 goals and 12 assists across all competitions last season and he will add some much-needed depth and cutting edge in the final third. A move to the Premier League would be an exciting step up in the player’s career as well and he will look to get his career back on track with a move to Tottenham.
